This Privacy Policy explains how Federico Bempensato, Italy ("we", "us"), the data controller, processes personal data when you visit bempensato.com, buy a license or use our plugins. Contact: support@bempensato.com.
The short version

- Payments are handled by Lemon Squeezy, our Merchant of Record. We never see your card details.
- Our plugins do not send data about your visitors, content or users anywhere.
1. Visiting the Website
The Website is hosted on Cloudflare (Cloudflare, Inc.). To deliver pages and protect the service against abuse, Cloudflare processes technical data such as your IP address, browser user agent and the requested URL. These logs are kept for a short time for security and troubleshooting. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in operating a secure website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
The Website does not use analytics or advertising cookies. A theme preference may be stored in your browser if you choose light or dark mode. The content management area (/_emdash) sets strictly necessary session cookies only for logged-in editors.
2. Buying a license
Purchases are processed by Lemon Squeezy, LLC as Merchant of Record. Lemon Squeezy collects the data needed to complete the order (name, email address, billing country and address, payment details, tax information) and acts as an independent controller for payment and tax purposes; see the Lemon Squeezy Privacy Policy. Lemon Squeezy shares with us the order details we need to provide the license and support: your name, email address, country, the product and plan purchased, the license key and its activations. Legal basis: performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) and legal obligations (Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR).
If you pay through the checkout overlay on our Website, a script from Lemon Squeezy (assets.lemonsqueezy.com) is loaded on pages that show a buy button.
3. License activation
When you enter a license key in one of our plugins, your site contacts the Lemon Squeezy License API directly to activate and periodically validate the key. The request contains the license key and the domain name of your site (used as the activation name). No data about your visitors, your content or your users is sent. Without a license key, our plugins make no network requests.
4. Support emails
If you write to us, we process your email address and the content of your message to answer you. Legal basis: performance of a contract or our legitimate interest in answering your request.
5. Retention
Order and license records are kept for as long as the license is active and afterwards for the period required by tax and accounting law. Support conversations are deleted within 24 months after they are closed, unless needed to handle a dispute.
6. International transfers
Cloudflare and Lemon Squeezy may process data outside the European Economic Area, including in the United States. These transfers are covered by appropriate safeguards such as the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework or Standard Contractual Clauses.
7. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectify and erase your data, to restrict or object to processing, and to data portability. To exercise them, write to support@bempensato.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority; in Italy this is the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali (garanteprivacy.it).
